Notes:
-Christening St. Joseph on Brandywine on November 28, 1848.
-Children Sarah and Frank are living with their grandmother in the 1880 Census. The only Frank Callahan in the 1900 Census who matches the correct age as this Frank is a Frank A. Callahan living in Philly with his wife Mary A. McNally. Married 6 years (about 1894). This Frank A. Callahan in the 1910 Census lists his father born in Delaware, and mother born in Philly as would be expected. He also works in the Sheet Metal business like his father, Charles. Only 1 child born to Mary, wife of Frank, died young. They both lived past 1930 in Philly, living with Mary's only sibling, her brother James, and his daughter Mary, who married Joseph Hood, who also worked in the Sheet Metal Shop. Joseph and Mary Hood had at least two children, Joseph, b.c.1926, and Frank b.c.1928
-Burial on September 08, 1919.
-Between 1870 and 1880 moved from Delaware to Philadelphia and for a time lived with his sister Amelia and family. He had been divorced already by this time to an unknown person (the 1880 census lists divorced). The 1900 Census under the column "years married" lists a 32 crossed out, and then a 15 written in. Perhaps Charles at first misunderstood the question to mean from his first marriage? This would put his first marriage in 1867 or 1868, and the second in Nov/Dec 1884 or sometime in 1885.
-Two sons born in New Jersey in Early 1886 and Late 1887, but back in PA by 1891.
-Was a Sheet Metal Merchant. Listed as a tinsman in 1890 Philadelphia Directory.
-His business in 1890 was at 42N 2nd street as Callahan & Clayton (Charles Callahan & Frank B. Clayton)
-His home address in 1890 was 3927 Brown Street. (although 1900 census gives 3924 Brown)
-In 1898 he is recorded in the records of the PA Supreme Court fighting an appeal of a $4000 judgement he received for being hit by an electric trolley while crossing a street, injuring his hip. He was driving a horse drawn wagon. He won the appeal.
