Notes:
-Dennis Fountaine is mentioned in the will of her father Nicholas
Fountaine of Somerset Co. Maryland. He left two thirds of his estate to
"sons Marcy, Nicholas, Stephen, and daughter Dennis Lane". Nicholas
Fountaine had written his will April 13, 1708, and is was proved October
1, 1708. He is supposed to be a Huguenot refugee who was granted property
on the Manokin River by Lord Baltimore. This was named by Nicholas
"Fountaine's Lott". Later he would acquire another parcel of land called
"Normandie". Nicholas was in maryland by May 1662, and was born in
France, he reportedly later resided in London for a time having fled
Catholic persecution, and were active members of the French Reformed Church on
Treadneedle Street. The Fountaine (also spelled Fontaine/Fountain/De La
Fountaine) lines are difficult to sort out beyond Dennis's father
Nicholas.
