June 2005

In June, Alex became even more mobile. He goes where he wants, when he wants! He sits up, rolls over, and which way he wants. He started eating about any kind of food you put in front of him! He also loves to play peek-a-boo! He holds anything in front of his face, an then pulls it down laughing hysterically.

• June 2: Alex had his first taste of pickle today at Quizno's. Possibly his favorite food so far! He even seemed to make the sign language sign for "more" over and over.
• June 4: Alex went to his Great Uncle Bill and Great Aunt Gail's for dinner, and had cranberry sauce for the first time
• June 5:: Alex's first time in his new kiddy pool. He loves splashing in the water in his pool and bath.
• June 6: Alex stood up and let go, trying to walk unassisted for the first time today.
• June 9: Alex got to meet his new 2nd cousin tonght, Dylan Callahan. He drove up with his mommy and great-grandmother to visit him in the hospital. Daddy came up later and met them. Alex had an absolute fit, and started screaming when he saw his mommy holding the other baby :)
• June 14:
Alex went to the St. Charles Carnival right down the street, just with dad, and had a great time. He played some of the carnival games, including rolling the balls down. He didn't win, but the lady gave him a stuffed animal prize anyway. he is such a flirt.
• June 15: Alex went to the carnival again with dad and mom this time to show mom how good he was at the games. Alex had bread with olive oil for th first time today at Bertucci's
• June 16: Alex had his doctor's appointment today. He had spinach for the first time which he seems to like OK.

  • Head: 18.75" (95%)
  • No shots this time, but he had an Iron test which was OK.
• June 18:
Alex spent the day outside at a flea market/craft fair where his mommy was selling her yarn and yarn supplies. He got a ton of sun, and fell asleep on a blanket under a tree
• June 19: Alex had some baked potato, break, and cucumber at the Outback. he loved it all except the cucumber which is now his least favorite food ever
• June 20: Tried cucumber again--still hated it.. Alex had spent the day at Temple University, touring with Brook and Aunt Katie. At night we had dinner with Gramma too at Due Amici. By now, he is cruising everywhere, walking wherever there is something to hold on to.
• June 23: Alex learned "gimmie-5", and was doing it all day!
• June 25: Alex slept through the whole night and was a good boy :) He is by now very mommy attached, and today sat in his room with me banging on his door and trying to turn the doorknob to try and find mommy who had gone out.
• June 26: Alex had meat for the first time ,eating chicken. He liked it pretty good
• June 27:
Alex ate his first fungus today, having some mushrooms with dinner. He liked those as well.
• June 29th: At 8:45pm, we noticed that we had new neighbors across the street. We helped them move in. They have a baby Emery 5 months older than Alex, and Alex came over a few days later and chased him around their house.
