Notes:
-History of Allegheny County written about thirty years after her
death says her maiden name was "Oberheim", but no local Oberheim family
exists. Her daughter Sophie's marriage certificate in 1893 gives her
maiden name as "Opperman". Records of the Orphan's Court of Allegheny
County identify her father as Conrad Upperman who died 1840. In 1843
(was this when Jeanetta's mother died?) a guardian was appointed over
Conrad's youngest two children, Jeanetta (over age 14), and Josephine
(under age 14) to monitor their share of Conrad's estate. This guardian
was named James Carpenter. Orphan's court records document the
accounting of the estate through 1855. Estate valued at $1000.
